Cleo McKee Driggers

Cleo Patri McKee was born on July 3, 1889.  Her full name was Cleo Patri Hazeltine Victoria Emmaline Fate William Ballentine McKee Driggers.  Family lore says that everyone that came to visit was allowed to name her, but since this is the name of the doctor’s wife that probably delivered her {they were also a cousin} she was most likely named after this woman.  She married Ernest Driggers somewhere around 1904-1905.  Ernest was a Baptist Minister.  They had two daughters, Pauline and Mildred.  Cleo died on January 12, 1920 from heart failure and a heart leak.  Ernest was serving a church in Newberry, SC at that time.  Before the end of the year, Ernest married Mary Elizabeth Darby.  The next year the couple had Ernest, Jr.  Ernest, Sr served Callie Self Memorial Church in Greenwood and East Park Baptist Church in Greenville as pastor.  Ernest died on December 4, 1947 and Mary died on September 27, 1980.
