Minnie McKee Patton

Minnie Lee McKee was born on May 15, 1897. She went to work in the cotton mill after the fifth grade.   She married Robert Lee Patton on April 13, 1913.  The couple lived in Laurens, Greenwood, Drayton and Ninety-Six before settling in the Monaghan Mill area of Greenville County, SC.  They had five children: Agnes, Rhunette, James, Virginia and Grace. Robert Lee worked in the cotton mills.  Minnie is remembered as being very gentle, humble and sweet. She was a wonderful seamstress and cook and loved to sing all of the great old hymns.  Robert Lee died of cancer on September 30, 1950.  Minnie outlived him nineteen years, rejoining him in heaven on May 29, 1969.
